The Quitlign Gallery is doing a give away again .. and as I never got around to do one back in July for my birthday well I guess this is my chance.
As usual I have no idea what to give away - which is another reason I so rarely do them ...well life is busy so you just get some fabrics - well one of your ... some christmassy FQs for the upcoming season ...
fine print
* 1 entry per person
* tell me something nice about a library or a bookstore or a book... and maybe your current read
* shipping international, so I will fill the envelope using a scale, so could be 5 or 6 FQs depending on the weight
I know you will be busy just clicking on one blog after the other - and because I don't like hoops you don't need to start following me anywhere. I doubt I would have time to keep up with the comments if I suddenly got a lot of followers. Feel free to come back later - you are all clever ladies and gentlemen, you can find bloglovin and RSS buttons or do old-fashioned bookmarking .. or just don't

Hi Leo, The holiday fabrics are pretty but being first as you say is not a great position, but I love bookstores and Libraries so I thought I'd tell you about this wonderful used bookstore in Santa Cruz called Logos. The whole basement is filled with used books of all kinds. I just love to go down there and spend time browsing around. It's a good place to holiday shop too because most of the books are discounted! I'm about to start a new book called The Power of One. It's a story based in South Africa, it came strongly recommended by a friend so I thought I'd give it a read. Happy hopping, cheers, CW

ReplyDeleteWe have a nice library in our town, and one of my favorite things about it is that the "Friends of the Library" association has book sales a few times a year of books people have donated as well as books the library is done with. The books are inexpensive and the library benefits!
And finally, we're very lucky to have a wonderful children's book store in our town. One entire floor is used books and the other floor is new books. There's one room of used adult books, but everything else is for kids. When we're looking for something specific, they check the "extras" in the basement and sometimes come up with it. Once I retired I knew I could no longer just buy buy buy books whenever I saw something I thought I would like, so I started going to the library on a regular basis, every two weeks, coming away with a load of books to keep me busy for the next two weeks. I have found many favorite authors. Right now I am reading the eleventh book in the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomer. Hallmark channel has made this series into a TV series also. Loving that as well, even though they changed quite a bit, but still kept the basis the same. I've enjoyed your blog. Good luck to all for the blog hop give away.

I just finished "A Star for Mrs. Blake" by April Smith. (It's a review copy so I'm not sure if it's out yet or releasing soon.) Anyway, it's about a group of Gold Star Mothers in 1933 who were sent by the US Army on a pilgrimage to see their sons graves in France. Beautifully written, exquisite story. As for the library, our local library is still (actually again but it's a long story) housed in our 1913 Carnegie building. I love it! pbstrand@msn.com
