Well to endings - and new beginnings (in case you should be one of the really really nice people who send me real letters, would you mind holding off until I can give you a new address? should know that until the end of the week)
Well I also have a quilty finish - not a complete quilt BUT my Easy Street top is finally done - any tips on how to quilt it?
see the thing is pretty huge so I'm having a hard time taking pictures of it - oh yes and I did a third star:
Leo
Congratulations! What a huge milestone. You must go out and celebrate both your Bachelor's degree and the completion of your gorgeous quilt top!
ReplyDeleteHey Leo, many congratulations! You must feel rather light and free right now?! Your Easy Street quilt looks fantastic! I think it's the nicest one I've seen to come out of tht mystery! Quilting big quilts like that on a home machine is a real challenge. I generally go for straight stitching on the diagonal. That way you don't have to mark it. You just shoot/ sew from one corner of a patch across to the other corner of a patch and it creates a nice all over grid. If you use a flat batting and a walking foot you should not have to much problem with batting. Of course a nice top like that you might think about hand quilting...cheers, CW
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your finishes! (or rather beginnings...)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing up the last of your exams! Easy Street is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhooey! Congratulations. You must feel like you've lost a million pounds. I love your Easy Street. How on earth did you find time to finish it while doing exams?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Graduate! I know you are happy that's over.
ReplyDeleteYour Easy Street looks great. I finished mine. Well the top. I need to piece the back. Can't decide if I'm going to quilt mine with diagonal straight lines or horizontal wavy lines. Will be one or the other. It's so big, I keep putting it off.
I saw your quilt on Freemotion by the River! It is gorgeous! I love your Easy Street!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteLove the Easy Street!
Congratulations! What an awesome accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt finish is breathtaking!
Congratulations, Leo! :)
ReplyDeleteMy Easy Street is at the same stage - I will be looking out for quilting tips too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing school! And I LOVE the colors you used for Easy Street! I just quilted mine using the same pantograph Bonnie Hunter used on hers--made it a no-brainer for me!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on both of your finishes. The quilt top is wonderful. Your colors are so pretty. Take time to celebrate the accomplishments you have made.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing your exams and your Easy Street looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
